Parent’s Night Out Picks in Lexington, KY

By Hannah Rivera, Publisher & Editor of Macaroni KID Lexington January 16, 2026

Sometimes parents need a break, too. Give yourself a well-deserved evening off while your kids enjoy supervised fun — crafts, games, gym time, and more! Whether you’re planning a date night, errands, or just a break, these local options make it easy to find safe, engaging activities for your kids.

North Lexington Family YMCA & C.M. Gatton Beaumont YMCA

The YMCA hosts Parents’ Night Out events on select weekends designed for kids up to 12. Expect crafts, indoor gym play, swimming or a movie — all supervised by trained staff so you can recharge. These are usually scheduled in the early evening (around 4:30–7:30 p.m.).

The Little Gym – Parent Survival Nights

At The Little Gym, kids get to spend a few hours playing games, learning new skills, and working off energy in a supportive gym environment. These Parent Survival Nights happen on select Friday or weekend evenings — sometimes with fun themes like Glow Party events — and provide parents a scheduled kid-free evening.

KidStrong Lexington

KidStrong hosts occasional Parents’ Night Out sessions, offering social time and active play for children while parents enjoy some downtime. Past events have included supervised fun like themed play, games, and activities for kids ages roughly 3–11.

Legacy All Sports

This gymnastics and activity center hosts open gym sessions most Saturday nights where kids ages 5 and up can tumble, jump, climb, and play in a supervised environment for a low-key evening option. While not a formal Parents’ Night Out program every week, its open gyms make for a great weekend night full of energy-burning fun — often perfect to pair with dinner or errands later.

📍 Open gyms typically run Saturday evenings and include play on gymnastics equipment and obstacle-style stations.

The Bright Spot – A local creative learning lab that hosts Kid’s Night Out events designed for imaginative fun. Recent offerings have included theme-based activities like Lego Masters, Glow Parties, and Cardboard Creations where kids do crafting, games, and projects while parents take a well-deserved break.

🎉 Past themes like “Kid’s Night Out: Lego Masters” and similar evenings are typically in the early evening (5:30–8:00 PM) and are great for school-aged kids who love hands-on fun.

Sims Kids

If you’re looking for a creative, playful way for your child to spend an evening while you enjoy some adult time, Sims Kids in Lexington’s Woodland Arts District offers Boutique Play & Parents’ Night Out sessions designed just for that. This boutique-style childcare and enrichment studio blends guided activities with open play in a thoughtfully curated environment where kids get to socialize, explore creatively, and engage in hands-on fun — giving parents a chance to relax or run errands with peace of mind. Check out their social media for a Valentine's Day Parents' Night Out!

Main Event Lexington (Bonus idea!)

While not a traditional drop-off childcare event, Main Event is a highly family-friendly entertainment venue with bowling, laser tag, and arcade games — perfect if you’re looking for an adult-supervised group outing with lively kid activities while you’re out nearby. You can have a drink at the bar or a kid-free dinner knowing they are having fun nearby.

Limited & Seasonal Options

In addition to these organized group programs, local parks and community organizations (like Lexington Parks & Recreation) sometimes run seasonal Parents’ Night Out events or special activity nights for kids; always worth checking community calendars for updates and pre-registration.
